St. James Episcopal Church...I often find myself passing this beautiful church while out shooting landscapes on the North shore.
This time was different, there was definitely a holiday vibe in the air. The moon and Venus were shining bright... I knew I had to pull over and get the shot.
St. James is known as a historical area of Smithtown with a General store in continuous operation since 1857.
It got its name when residents, then mostly farmers, adopted the name of the local Episcopal church.
Founded in 1853. and built along side of an Indian trail which is nowN Country Rd.
This section of Route 25A is filled with landmarks and history. Perfect for a visit especially during the holiday season.
